My Internship Experience at SoftLogix in Integrated Command and Control Centre, Davanagere Smart City Limited.
I’d like to share my experience working at SoftLogix in Integrated Command and Control Centre, Davanagere Smart City Limited. in the following blog as my internship is about to end.
About Me
My name is Jahnavi Miriyala and, I am pursuing Bachelor in Computer Science Engineering at Bennett University. As final-year students, We would be working in Companies and Industries in a year. An internship is crucial because it gives us access to opportunities and new abilities that we students might not otherwise have. Working closely with experts in their chosen business, interns acquire technical expertise about it. Keeping this in mind, Bennett University has designed the curriculum, to benefit students in their final year in getting the Industry experience they require. Internships are a fantastic way to apply what you learn in the classroom to real-world situations. Learning is one thing, but putting those talents to use in the workplace is another. This is a terrific approach to investigating various specializations and career routes that fit individual preferences. Coming from a middle-class family, my parents always wanted me to have a secure career and work for the Government. I had a great opportunity to work in this esteemed Organization since 5 months as an intern.
About the Organization
Davanagere Smart City Limited: Davanagere Smart City Mission is an initiative under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life of people by enabling local development and harnessing technology
Integrated Command and Control Centre: ICC is the unified facility where all the various Pan ICT solutions are operated and monitored. It facilitates a viewing and controlling mechanism in a fully automated environment for optimized monitoring, regulating, and enforcement of services.
Soft Logix: Soft Logix is a leading e-governance solution provider, Tera Soft along with Soft Logix has taken a contract to implement ICT Components for Davanagere Smart City.
Goals and Objectives
- Augment safety and security of citizens and city assets
- Improve mobility conditions in the city
- Enhance law enforcement through effective city surveillance and automated traffic enforcement.
- Improve incidents resolution through effective coordination among departments
- Provide a platform for citizen engagement
- Enhance the quality of governance and citizen services imparted by various departments and agencies
Problem
Smart cities are needed to bring growth and development to a country. Smart cities are needed for the development of the quality of life of people in the cities. If the quality of life of the people is improved in cities, then naturally the city will attract more people and thereby more investments.

My Role
As an Intern, I am Trained in all the software used to implement the components, project scope, implementation, and outcomes of ICT projects, including City Surveillance System, Intelligent Traffic Management System, Intelligent Transport System, One City-One Website with Mobile Application, Adaptive Traffic Control System, etc. My work was to ensure all the cameras are turned on and inform on-site engineers in case any camera was not in work. Assisted Traffic police or officers from Police Command and Control Centre with requested video footage, or help with any ICT Project software. Participated in networking and marketing events. Created Ppts for presentations, and posters for Digital Display boards in Davanagere City for public awareness.
Challenges
At first fitting into a new work culture was a bit frustrating. Getting to know my coworkers was difficult as most of my coworkers speak a different language (Kannada) and very little English.
Learnings
It’s difficult to list all the things I’ve learned in even 10000 words. My journey at ICCC Davanagere Smart City has been a wonderful life lesson. I feel proud to know and be a part of our Government’s effort toward improving the quality of life of people by enabling local development and harnessing technology as a means to create smart outcomes for citizens.
Guidance From Bennett University
All our Faculty members have given the students a lot of assistance and were very helpful and guided us whenever we needed them. My study at Bennett University and all the club activities helped me develop abilities that I used in my daily work.
